AP govt nod for 2,894-cr TTD Budget-2018-19

​Tirupati:  AP government has approved the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) budget for 2018-19 on Monday vide its GO RT No 489. According to TTD sources, the TTD sent the budget proposals with an outlay of Rs 2,893.94 crore for 2018-19 and also the revised 2017-18 budget in January this year. 

The major sources of receipts in the budget proposal include Rs 1,156 crore through Hundi offerings (Kanuka) by the devotees, Rs 300.30 crore through sale of worship tickets, rituals (Arjitha Sevas) and special entry tickets, Rs 180 crore through sale of Prasadams mostly the most sought after delicious Laddu Prasadam popular world over and Rs 110 crore accommodation revenue by allotting rooms to the devotees on the holy hills and down the hills and Rs 125 crore through the sale of human hair offered by  thousands of devotees daily as token of fulfillment of their vows before they have Darshan of Lord Venkateswara.
