Indian Red Cross Society website launched

Visakhapatnam: The Governor and President of Indian Red Cross Society, state unit, ESL Narasimhan, launched the website of Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS), Andhra Pradesh unit, here on Saturday.

The state unit has completed 59 years of dedicated service. Red Cross has been in the fore front alleviating the people’s sufferings caused either by natural calamities. ESL Narasimhan released the  annual report for the year 2016-17 and presented the awards of appreciation in cash to the winners of essay writing competition; 85 gold medals, 11 Seva mementoes were presented to 93 persons who rendered services to society.

Speaking on the occasion, the Governor said that Red Cross has spread its wings and imparting training to the youth volunteers in  Emergency Response Training (ERT) and First Aid Responders (FAR). He advised the elderly people, who retired and enthusiastic in serving society, to join Urban Senior Citizen Centre. 

He also guided the technical team of IRCS to update the official website with statistical records, photos and videos of the rescue works taken up by the IRCS volunteers within the stipulated time on regular intervals Rachel Chatterjee, Chairperson of IRCS, state unit, said that the website was designed as user friendly. Any individual can join the IRCS by entering their details and photograph on the website.
