Spa raided; four Thai nationals arrested
Viaskhapatnam: The special branch police with the support of MVP Colony police raided Nirvana Thai Spa Massage Centre here on Saturday and registered cases against the organiser of the spa and registered cases against four Thailand nationals (women). The foreign nationals arrived in the city on a tourist visa and were employed at the spa on a daily allowance.
Preliminary investigation into the case revealed that the four women had arrived in the city on January 2018. The organiser of the spa Avinash Joshi alias Anil Joshi, a resident of Visakhapatnam, provided employment to the four women in the spa located at Seethammadhara area in the city by violating the norms. The investigation has also revealed that the cross-gender massage (female to male client massage) was a regular practice at the spa to woo the customers.
ADCP (Special Branch) PV Ravi Kumar said that Thailand girls have been living in the city for the past three months with a valid visa. Shockingly, the women with tourist visa were given jobs at the spa. The organiser of the spa was served a notice to clarify why he had employed the women with tourist visa, he added.
“We are investigating the case in various angles as there were allegations that the organiser had pushed some girls into the flesh trade at the spa. We registered a case against the four Thailand women under various sections of Foreigners Act 1946 and will detain them and later deport them to their country”, he added.
