AP Govt to unveil Cyber Security Policy soon

Amaravati: AP government is bringing a new cyber security policy in order to provide security to the government websites and information apart from attracting large quantum of investments in this sector, said Minister for IT Nara Lokesh.

The Minister had an interaction with CEOs of different software companies under the Cyber Security Industry Consultation programme at the Secretariat on Monday. 

The State government has been striving to encourage next generation warriors in the cyber security sector and the government has been conducting hackathons every month, he informed. Lokesh said the students were being encouraged in cyber security skills in order to help them secure jobs in cyber security.

Skill development to the students will be provided by the Consensys Company which is playing a lead role in blockchain technology. He said the Cyber Security Operations Centre of AP would be the first of its kind in the country and would extend services to the entire country.

He pointed out that the State government was aiming to provide paperless administration to the public and also started real time governance.
The government was already using technology to test the quality of water, track the water tankers and other services.

Speaking on the employment in software sector, Lokesh said that 99% of the software companies remained only in Telangana at the time of State bifurcation. The TDP government took pains to bring new IT companies to the residual State of AP. 

The government intended to provide one lakh jobs in IT sector in the State by the end of 2019, he said. The Minister said the meeting was convened to learn about the requirements of the companies before bringing in the new Cyber Security Policy.
