AP Left parties urge people to observe Black Day today

Vijayawada: Black Day will be observed in Andhra Pradesh on Tuesday by switching off the lights from 7 p.m. to 7.30 p.m. as part of the protest for not granting Special Category Status to the state by the NDA Government.

Pratyeka Hoda, Vibhajana Hameela Sadhana Samiti has given a call to the people to observe black day on April 24 in the state as part of the struggle for the SCS. The Samiti held a series of meetings in the state in recent months and called for bandh also. 

The Samiti president Chalasani Srinivas appealed to the people to observe Black Day. The CPI State Secretary K Ramakrishna and the CPM State secretary P Madhu, in two separate statements, called upon the people to observe the Black Day and switch off the lights from 7 p.m. to 7.30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Opposition parties, the YSRCP, the Congress and Jana Sena are extending support to the Samiti in the fight for the SCS.
