Rayadurgam (Anantapur): Information and Rural Housing Minister Kalva Srinivas has hailed District Collector Veera Pandian's initiative of reaching out to people in interior villages at the mandal-level by decentralising the public grievances redressal programme 'Mee Kosam'.

Participating in the Mee Kosam programme along with the District Collector and his team of officers at the KCNR Function Hall in Kanekal on Monday, Srinivas said that Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu himself was giving top priority to redressal of public grievances and was giving most of his time for the people. Until recently, people were coming to the district headquarters for redressal of their problems but now the government is going to the people in remote mandals, the Minister said.

Veera Pandian said that 1,100 petitions had been received from the people. Some of the petitions relate to land disputes, demands for housing while there are demands which have financial connotations. These demands will be addressed in a phased manner, the Collector said. All government departmental heads participated in the programme.
