BJP on its last legs, says Somireddy
Nellore: Agriculture minister Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy said that final stage for BJP had started in the country. The minister participated in Cycle Yatra in Gudur rural mandal in the district on Tuesday.
He inaugurated CC roads in Puttamrajuvari kandriga village of Nernur panchayat constructed at a cost of Rs 1.80 crore. Speaking to the media, Somireddy said that the Central government has been showing discrimination towards southern states and has not been releasing sufficient funds for the development of the region.
“The Central government says that Rs 1,500 crore is sufficient for construction of capital Amaravati. In fact, these meagre funds are not adequate even for constructing canals and tanks in the district,’’ quipped the minister. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu had started ‘Dharma Poratam’ to deliver the message about the injustice done to the state by the Central government, he added.
The minister also questioned as to why BJP leaders in the state had not commented against the YSR Congress MP V Vijayasai Reddy for his adverse comments against the Chief Minister in the state.
With the attitude of Modi and Amit Shah, no party in the country would believe the BJP, he added. He appealed to the people to participate in Cycle Yatra and fight against the Central government for achieving the Special Category Status to the state. Gudur MLA P Sunil Kumar, municipal chairperson P Devasena and others were present.
