Kurnool keeps it ‘cool’ for bikers
Keeping in view of the rising temperature, a town in Kurnool has come up with an idea to ‘cool’ things down.
The town in the hot zone of the Rayalaseema region is already experiencing the temperature of 42 degrees Celsius. Hence, the Municipality of Kurnool have placed canopies across the city's main traffic junctions such as the Collector's office, at Raj Vihar, and the KMC, Bus stand to give some respite to the people who regularly travel on bikes.
Particularly at the traffic lights, the bikers are forced to wait for as long as 60-130 seconds. Which is why the authorities have set up canopies made of nets to provide shade from the glaring heat.
The initiative is garnering huge applause on social media. According to the reports, the municipal corporation has spent nearly Rs 3 lakh for the idea and are planning to increase the number of nets.
