Tenant farmer commits suicide

Guntur: Unable to bear losses in the agriculture, a 40-year-old tenant farmer committed suicide at Chavali village under Vemur mandal in Guntur district on Tuesday. According to police, the deceased was identified as Thotakura Krishnaiah, who took four acres of land for lease and cultivated paddy. He was incurring losses for the last four years.

He had borrowed Rs 7 lakh, as he was unable to repay the amount. When the money lenders forced him, vexed with life, he committed suicide by consuming pesticide in the house. He is survived by wife and two children. Police registered a case and took up investigation.
