Vivek Yadav receives Best Collector award

Vizianagaram: District collector received Best Collector award from Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu  on National Panchayati Raj Day on Tuesday. The Chief Minister presented the award to the collector at a programme organised at Dwarapudi in East Godavari district.

Vivek Yadav got this award for best performance in implementing of MGNREGA and for providing 2.45 lakh working days under the scheme. He also provided job cards to a maximum number of families and income too. The district paid Rs.311.80 crore to the job card holders.  

The district also earned the distinction by connecting 1701 pumpsets with solar power under NTR Jalasiri scheme. Construction of 10,762 Nadep compost pits this year was s also a record.

The district hit headlines by constructing lakhs of individual toilets in a short span last year. The Chief Minister appreciated the collector and advised officials to follow him in implementing government schemes.
