Vijayawada Municipal Corporation planning for 24x7 drinking water supply: Nani

Vijayawada: Vijayawada MP Kesineni Srinivas alias Nani said that Vijayawada Municipal Corporation is constructing 10 drinking water reservoirs in the city with the objective of supplying drinking water 24x7 to the denizens of the city. 

The MP, along with the Vijayawada West MLA Jaleel Khan, Mayor Koneru Sridhar took part in the ground breaking ceremony for the construction of 1500 ML water reservoir at HB Colony in 28 division on Wednesday. Speaking on the occasion, the MP said that the civic body is constructing 10 water reservoirs in the city to ensure supply of drinking water round-the-clock.

He asked the people to lodge a complaint to the VMC authorities if they notice leakages to the water pipes or facing drinking water problem. Mayor Koneru Sridhar said that the civic body has taken up development works worth crores of rupees. 

He said the new reservoir would be constructed at a cost of Rs 4 crore would be useful to the residents of 28 divisions. He appealed to the people not to waste drinking water. The Andhra Pradesh Police Housing Corporation Chairman Nagul Meera, Deputy Mayor Gogula Ramana, TDP floor leader G Haribabu, local corporator Y Ramaiah and others attended the event.
