Guntur: Former IPS officer V V Lakshminarayana said that he had resigned from his post to serve the farmers who, he described, as ‘broadminded people’. “Government employees get  increments but  farmers do not get any,” he said while participating in an awareness programme on nature farming  organised by Abhaya Foundation in Yazali under Karlapalem mandal of Guntur district on Thursday. He said he was thinking what he could do if he happens to become agriculture minister. “If I don’t  become agriculture minister, I will work as a social worker to solve the problems of the farmers. One cannot do anything alone. We can achieve anything if we unite. I want to see light in the lives of farmers. I started this yagnam in Yazili, some persons are trying to disturb this yagnam,” he said.

Earlier, he visited former Allahabad High Court Judge Justice Ambati  Lakshmana Rao’s residence in Vellatur village under Ponnur rura mandal. He interacted with his son Ramalingeswara Rao. Later,  speaking to media at Vellalur, he felt that development is possible with the Special Category Status.

He felt that the Centre will respond on SCS very soon. He said youth should not wait for jobs instead they strive to reach a stage so that they can provide jobs to others.
