Minister warns cases against middlemen

Nellore: Municipal Administration Minister P Narayana warned that they would book cases against brokers, who are meditating to get loans from various corporations. The Minister along with District Collector R Mutyala Raju held a review meeting with officials of various Corporations and bankers at his camp office here on Friday.

Later, speaking to the media, Narayana stated that they had found involvement of two middlemen in sanctioning of loans in two cases.  A police complaint would be lodged against them, he added. He appealed to the beneficiaries to approach the officials and legislators to solve their issues regarding loans.

‘We had conducted a survey in Nellore Municipal Corporation limits about situation of beneficiaries, who have secured loans from BC, Minorities, Kapu and also Brahmana Corporations during 2016-17 and 2017-18,” the Minister said, adding that they were conducting review meets with bankers and legislators for the last 5 weeks.

The Minister explained that bankers have been supporting the administration for sanctioning loans in Nellore Municipal Corporation limits and the beneficiaries were also running their units. He further informed that they would solve issues of beneficiaries within 3 weeks and mentioned that there are 15,000 beneficiaries in all Corporations in the district.

He asked the authorities to prepare a list of units that were grounded during 2016-17 and 2017-18. Joint Collector-2 V Venkatasubba Reddy, Deputy Municipal Commissioner Ch Srinivasulu, LDM Venkat Rao, former legislator M Sridhar Krishna Reddy and others were present.
