Raghavaiah Park to get a facelift
Vijayawada: Raghavaiah Park located in the heart of the city on MG Road would get a facelift as the Vijayawada Municipal Corporation is arranging aquariums and cages for birds, rabbits and ducks to attract the visitors.
Though more than three decades passed since the formation of Raghavaiah Park, it was not developed on par with the Rajiv Gandhi Park due to lack of adequate space and other reasons. Now, Municipal Commissioner J Nivas has decided to develop the park and enhance greenery.
On Saturday, the Commissioner inspected the arrangements being made for setting up of aquarium and bird cages. The VMC has also decided to renovate the water fountains, enhance greenery and restore the damaged toys. During summer holidays, hundreds families visit the park for recreation in evenings as it is located in the heart of the city.
As almost all schools declared holidays, the visitors’ rush would increase soon. So, the civic body is also gearing up to renovate the park. Later, the Commissioner inspected the Bandar Canal beautification works with the engineering officials. The Amaravati Development Corporation has taken up the canals beautification works in the city.
