‘Students should strive towards creating jobs’
Visakhapatnam: Vice-Chancellor of Lincoln University of Malaysia Prof Dr Amiya Baumik visited Integral Institute of Advanced Management (IIAM) here on Saturday as a part of International partnership with the IIAM.
The Vice-Chancellor discussed various possibilities of signing an MoU where the IIAM students can earn an international MBA degree from Lincoln University by credit transfer system. On the occasion, Baumik proposed to recognise the institute as a research centre of Lincoln University and faculty with doctoral degree and five-year post-doctoral experience would be recognised as research guides by the ministry of higher education, Government of Malaysia. She also explained various other schemes of partnership for the conduct of international conferences, post-doctoral programmes.
Amiya Baumik addressed the PGDM students of IIAM and advised the students not to just get a degree and a job, instead they have to work towards creating jobs. Getting a degree and a job and being happy about it is just like terminating yourself from doing much more that you can, she said.
She advised the students to create an impact on society in which they are living and quoted an example of how Swamy Vivekananda is still remembered by the entire world though he died at a young age of 39 years. Director IIAM Dr Vijaya Rudraraju briefed her about the institute. She discussed over the various possibilities of signing an MoU. Dean and Secretary IIAM Dr SP Ravindra said that the institute would consider the proposal and take it forward for the benefit of the students of IIAM.
