Thunderstorms forecast for coastal AP

Hyderabad: Thunderstorms with gusty winds occurred at isolated places in Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam and East Godavari districts of north coastal Andhra Pradesh during the last 24 hours ending at 8.30 am on Friday.

The Met department bulletin said rain occurred at isolated places in the coastal districts, while dry weather prevailed in Rayalaseema. Chintapalle of Vishakhapatnam districtwitnessed one cm of rain. The highest maximum temperature of 42 degrees Celsius was recorded in Jangamaheswarapuram, Nandyal and Tirupati.

The other temperatures recorded in the state were: Anantapur, Kadapa, Kurnool &Nandigama 41 each, Vijayawada 40, Kavali& Nellore 38 each, Kakinada, Ongole, Tuni&Arogyavaram 37 each, Visakhapatnam Airport & Machilipatnam 36 each, Bapatla&Narsapur 35 each, Kalingapatnam 33, Visakhapatnam 32.

According to forecast, there will be light to moderate rain or thunderstorms in the coastal districts on April 28, 30 and May 1. No large change during the period May 2 to 4 is the weather outlook. In Rayalaseema, there will be dry weather from April 28 to 30 and light rain on May 1.  No large change during the period May 2 to 4 in the weather outlook.
