Vijayawada Municipal Corporation schools achieve 93% success
Vijayawada: The Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC) schools achieved 93 per cent success in the SSC Public examinations. The results were declared on Sunday by HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao in Visakhapatnam.
Of the total 2,063 10th class students who attended the examination from 28 high schools, 1927 students came out with flying colours thus recording a success percentage of 93.
A total of 847 Telugu medium students passed against the 935 students who attended the examination. Three Urdu medium schools achieved 100 per cent results with all 41 students passing the examination. All Urdu medium students who studied at APJ Abdul Kalam High School, SMA Khddus High School and Moulana Abul Kalam Azad High School passed the examination.
English medium students excelled in SSC exams with pass percentage of 96. Of the total 1,087 English medium students who attended the examination, 1039 passed. The VMC is shifting its attention from Telugu medium to English medium for the last two years and teachers are teaching in both languages so that the children understand the lessons.
Mayor Koneru Sridhar , Municipal Commissioner J Nivas and Deputy Educational officer K Durga Prasad congratulated the students and teachers on achieving 93 per cent success in the SSC examinations. In all, 33 students scored 10/10 GPA grade.
Students attending the Advanced Career Foundation classes achieved excellent results. In all, 26 students scored 10/10 GPA grade in the examinations. The VMC is taking special care and conducting special classes, which will be useful for the EAMCET also. The VMC conducted residential classes for slow learners at Krishna Lanka. The VMC is encouraging the teachers and the students, said the Mayor and Commissioner.
