Boy drowns in canal

Kadapa: An 11-year-old boy was drowned in a canal at Gurivipalli village in Simhadripuram mandal on Tuesday. He met a watery grave when he went for a swimming. The deceased identified as K Prasanth (11) of Guraja village in Yellanur mandal in Anantapur district.

According to the sources, the deceased came to his uncle’s house a week ago to spend summer holidays. On Tuesday, he went for swimming in the canal located close to the village at 11.30 am.

The deceased relatives conducted searches as he did not return home till 2 pm. Meanwhile, some passers-by noticed the dead body was floating in the water and informed the relatives of deceased.
