Centre planning to double farmers’ incocme: Haribabu

Visakhapatnam: The Kisan Kalyan Karyasala (KKK), established by the Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA), was inaugurated by Visakhapatnam MP K Haribabu at Boni village in Andandapuram mandal in the district on Wednesday.

Speaking on the occasion, the MP said that the Central government is aiming to double the income of the farmers in the next five years and seven pro agricultural principles have been drafted. 

The KKK is one of the seven principles being implemented across the country. The government has decided to provide quality seeds, nutrients according to the soil strengths, construction of godowns and cold storages are the part of the new programme.

The government would also help the farming community by setting up of food processing units to ensure good product value and also would set up agriculture yards at all possible villages, Haribabu said.

As a part of the white revolution programme, the government would promote milk business and also promote the fish and prawn industry at a large scale. The Centre has been giving a top priority to the agriculture, horticulture, animal husbandry, fishing and other allied sectors.

Speaking on the occasion, In-Charge Collector  G Srijana explained that the government’s policy to strengthen the agriculture and its allied sectors. The government is promoting advanced technologies in the agriculture and other sectors to ensure quality and quantity of the crops and products. The government is also taking wide range pro farming activities to ensure highest returns in the agriculture sector, she added.

Later, the In-Charge Collector and MP presented awards to the 10 best farmers who achieved highest yielding in the present season.
Kisan Kalyan Karyasala: The experts of various sectors including agriculture, animal husbandry, aqua, sericulture and horticulture would explain about the steps to be taken to secure highest yielding.

The technical team will explain about the usage of the machines and other technologies in the sectors. The officials will also provide comprehensive training and support to the farming community from the KKK.
