Chief Minister flayed for asking Telugus to vote against BJP

Update: 2018-05-03 05:53 IST

Tirupati: BJP floor leader in State Assembly P Vishnukumar Raju criticised Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu for planning to depute his Ministers to Karnataka election to ask the Telugus to vote against BJP.

“It is causing embarrassment to the Telugus. They are living outside the State and are naturally reluctant to openly identify with any party from the State. This will be a bad precedent and put the Telugus outside in an irksome position,’’ he added.

The BJP leader said that by trying to project Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a betrayer based on concocted reports, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu stooped too low and asserted that Modi did not say anything about Special Category Status (SCS) in his Tirupati meeting.

Under a grip of fear following the relentless intense campaign on the Special Category Status by YSR Congress Party, Chandrababu Naidu made a ‘U-turn’ on the issue, said Vishnukumar Raju. He said a fear psychosis was driving Naidu to indulge in mud-slinging against the BJP.

He said Naidu was blaming the BJP of indulging in back-stabbing only to cover up his failures. Instead, it was Naidu who proved that he was an expert at back-stabbing when he had dethroned legendary N T Rama Rao and occupied the Chief Minister’s seat, the BJP leader said.

Though the Centre came forward in January this year to pay Rs 9,300 crore, amount equal to three-year Central funding that the State will get under SCS, Naidu deliberately refused it with an ulterior motive to malign BJP, he said.

Sharply reacting to Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu portending that BJP will become zero in 2019 elections, he said Naidu will not succeed in creating aspersions among the public on BJP as they know his real colour and will teach him a lesson in the next elections.

BJP leaders including district president B Chandra Reddy, party state spokesperson G Bhanuprakash Reddy and others were present
