Jagan promises Corporation for welfare of Vishwa Brahmins

Vijayawada: YSR Congress president YS Jaganmohan Reddy said that a special corporation would be set up for the welfare of Vishwa Brahmin community and one MLC seat would be given for them, if he is voted to power in the next elections.

Interacting with the people of Vishwa Brahmin community at Potlapadu village in Machilipatnam constituency in Krishna district on Wednesday as part of his Praja Sankalpa Yatra, he also said pensions would be given for goldsmiths who are above the age of 45.

Speaking on the occasion, the leaders of Vishwa Brahmin community said the people of their community were in pitiable condition. He said the governments were not providing any benefit to the sections. Tholeti Srikanth, leader of Vishwa Brahmin community, said that earlier the Y S Rajasekhara Reddy’s government issued a GO providing protection to the Vishwa Brahmins in their work tenure.

Later, the successive governments were not implementing the orders, he rued. He requested YS Jagan to take steps for the welfare and protection of Vishwa Brahmin community.  YSR Congress leader Perni Venkata Ramaiah and several other leaders also took part in Padayatra.
