Thunderstorms forecast for AP state

Hyderabad: Thunderstorms with gusty winds are very likely to occur at isolated places in all districts of Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema on May 3, the Met department bulletin warned on Wednesday. 

It said on May 4, thunderstorms with gusty winds are likely in all coastal Andhra districts. According to the bulletin, on Wednesday thunderstorms with gusty winds occurred in all districts of Andhra Pradesh. Heavy rain occurred at isolated places in Srikakulam district.

The chief amounts of rainfall (in cm) in the State were: Ranastalam (Srikakulam) 7, Visakhapatnam & Kakinada 6 each, Palakonda (Srikakulam), Peddapuram (East Godavari), Bheemunipatnam (Vishakhapatnam), Guntur, Podili (Prakasam) 5 each, Lam (Guntur), Gudur (Nellore), Mangalagiri (Guntur) 4 each, Gantyada Parvathipuram (both in Vizianagaram), Visakhapatnam Airport, Seethanagaram (Vizianagaram), Veeraghattam (Srikakulam) 3 and Mentada (Vizianagaram) 3 each.

There was two cm of rain each in Sullurpet, Gudivada, Garugubilli, Prathipadu, Marripudi, Merakamudidam, Balajipeta, Paderu, Pusapatirega, Bobbili, Bondapalle, Tuni, Punganur, Satyavedu, Srikalahasti and Palamaner. According to the bulletin, the highest maximum temperature of 44 degrees Celsius was recorded in Jangamaheswarapuram on Wednesday.
