10 lakh youth to get unemployment dole, skill development training
Amaravati: The government is planning to give unemployment allowance to at least 10 lakh eligible unemployed youth in the state. It is one of the election promises of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu’s government, which is yet to be implemented.
The Group of Ministers (GoM) including finance minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, youth welfare minister Kollu Ravindra and labour minister K Atchannaidu, constituted by Chandrababu Naidu to frame modalities for unemployment allowance met at the Secretariat on Thursday.
Speaking to media after the meeting, Kollu Ravindra said that the GoM was considering the eligibility, age and education qualifications to select the candidates for the allowance.
Apart from giving the allowance, the minister said the candidates would be provided skill development training to enable them to get employment. A district-level committee would be formed to ensure proper implementation of the scheme, he added.
