Mentally-ill woman raped

Nellore: A mentally unsound woman was allegedly raped by a 27-year  -old youth from Settigunta road area in the city on Thursday. Her parents observed her condition and insisted her to tell them what had happened to her. She explained about the incident to her parents.

Mother of the victim lodged a complaint with Nellore-II Town police station. The police shifted the victim to Government General Hospital for medical examinations where doctors confirmed the sexual assault. The accused was identified as Anji and a case was booked under Section 376 of the IPC.
