Chittoor:  As was expected earlier, the bye-election for Chittoor MLC seat is going to be unanimous. G Saraswathamma,  wife of  TDP departed  leader  Gali Muddu Krishnama  Naidu filed her nomination for MLC post as TDP  nominee,  while Mastan Reddy  from Peddamandyam, an independent  candidate also  filed his nomination.

Industries Minister N Amaranath Reddy and others made their efforts   for convincing  the lone independent  candidate to withdraw his nomination.  On Friday, Mastan Reddy withdrew his nomination for Chittoor MLC bye election paving the way to TDP nominee Saraswathamma.

It  may  be recalled  here that YSRCP, Congress and  Left parties   decided  not  to field  their nominees for MLC bypoll as a token of respect  towards  the departed leader Muddu Krishnama Naidu .

Speaking  to The Hans  India  here on Friday  Masthan Reddy,  who withdrew his nomination, said that there was  no  ill intension in filing his nomination. ``I have filed my nomination without any intension. But   I have withdrawn my nomination voluntarily to pave the way for TDP nominee.

I have great respect to the departed leader Gali Muddukrishnma Naidu. I did not get any pressure from any side to withdraw my nomination,“ he said.
