Aged pensioners’ noble gesture
Amaravati: About 40 old-age pensioners donated their first month pension of Rs 40,000 for capital Amaravati construction to Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu at his residence at Undavalli on Saturday.
Responding to the call given by Chandrababu Naidu to support the government in constructing the capital city recently, the aged people from Nadimpalem village in Prathipadu mandal in Guntur district collected the amount and gave it to the Chief Minister. Interestingly, all of them are agricultural labourers in that village.
Katari Andemma, an old-age pensioner, stated that she collected Rs 40,000 from the first month pension of the pensioners in her village, while giving the amount to Chandrababu Naidu. She further expressed her happiness stating that Chandrababu Naidu was protecting them as their eldest son in the family.
As per his election promise, Naidu was providing a monthly pension of Rs 1,000, she pointed out.The Chief Minister vowed to fulfill the aspirations of people and build a world-class capital city.
