Chandrababu wants death sentence for rape cases
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Friday visited the nine-year-old rape victim from Dachepall in Guntur district and assured to take care of her education till the highest degree she would study.
The accused Subbaiah was found hanging from a tree in a far away Daida village, two days after committing the alleged offense. He reportedly repented about raping a child and ended his life.
The state government paid the girl Rs 5 lakh compensation with Chandrababu further announcing another Rs 5 lakh fixed deposit in her name for her future.
The girl is currently recovering at the Guntur general hospital.
Stating that rapists would be given death sentence on the same day of committing the heinous crime, he said that men who behave with animal instincts have no right to be in Andhra Pradesh and on Earth adding that their response to these crimes will be witnessed from now on.
Speaking to the media, Chandrababu said that he was disturbed by the rape incident on a nine-year-old girl by a man in his fifties.
He, however, said that they will be careful in awarding the death penalty as they have also come across a few instances of false rape cases.
