Former CBI Joint Director tours Vamsadhara project area
Srikakulam: Vamsadhara project displaced people poured out their woes before former Joint Director of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) VV Lakshminarayana alleging that officials are insulting though sacrificed their lands and houses at a cheaper price.
He toured Vamsadhara project area in Hira mandal on Friday in the wake of speculations about his entry into politics. Farmers from Irapadu in Kotturu mandal, Duggupuram, Padali and other villages in Hira mandal reached the project area and pointed out that officials had forcibly vacated
them without paying compensation.
They said no facilities were provided at the rehabilitation colony. Displaced people T Poli Naidu, P Butchibabu, P Sanjiva Rao and others explained the problems being faced by them.
In the evening, the former JD inspected closed sugar factory premises at Amudalavalasa and collected details about it. On the occasion, locals explained that assurances made by TDP government on re-opening of sugar factory is yet to materialised. Later, the JD reached Sahalalaputtuga village in Kaviti mandal and interacted with kidney patients there.
