Lightning tracker app saves many lives in Andhra

The unique 'Lightning Tracker system App' developed jointly by ISRO and Kuppam Engineering College has come to the rescue of Andhra Pradesh in containing loss of life due to the lightning.  

The app helped to trace lightning in advance and evacuate people from the place immediately. Those who download the app will get alert 45 minutes before the lightning in their premises. 

The Meteorological department official KT Krishna said that so far 20.14 lakh people downloaded the app in the state and getting alerts regularly.  The new software will be downloaded by only BSNL users. The facility will be extended to all other mobile service users soon.
