Normalcy restored: EPCDL CMD

Visakhapatnam: Chairman and Managing Director of APEPDCL HY Dora informed that normalcy was restored at all the points and repair works were completed in the record time. During the recent thunderstorms, gales and heavy rains, some transformers and sub-stations were damaged. Necessary repair works were completed and normalcy was restored. He complimented the staff who present in the restoration works round-the-clock.

The CMD said that during the two spells of the disaster, the APEPDCL incurred Rs 1.93 crore loss. The major damage of Rs 1.15 crore caused only at East Godavari district. The 33/11 KV sub-stations, 33 KV feeders-108, 11KV feeders-808, 33 KV poles-24, 11 KV poles-586, LT poles-762, power transformers-9, distribution transformers-403, service connections-16,21,530, agricultural connections-34,889 were damaged.

By deploying the 65 special teams normalcy was restored immediately, Dora said.For rectification power, necessary staff are being posted in standby position with necessary equipment like poles, wires and with transformers in all APEPDCL jurisdiction, the CMD said.

He urged the people of Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, East and West Godavari districts to be aware of damaged poles and snapping of wires and inform the same through toll free number 1912 of APEPDCL Command Control Room.
