Raghuveera demands stern action against perpetrators
Visakhapatnam: The Congress party here on Friday demanded the government to eliminate the accused in rape cases in encounter without showing any mercy. The party expressed its deep concern over the number of sexual attacks and rapes on the girls in the state and demanded that government should act stringently against the culprits.
PCC president N Raghuveera Reddy, addressing a press conference in the city on Friday, reminded that during the Congress ruling, the government initiated stringent action against the culprits in the rape and acid attack cases.
He also reminded the encounter of three accused in acid attack case on a girl in Warangal during the Congress tenure. Strongly defending his remarks, Raghuveera said that unless government initiates stringent action against the culprits in the rape cases, such crimes would not be prevented in the society.
A P is in 6th place in rape and other women related crimes in the country. Due to the failure of the state and central governments for the past four years 10,000 crimes against women were recorded, Reddy said.
The PCC president demanded the government to pay compensation to the farmers who lost their crops due to untimely heavy rains and thunderstorms. The government should announce compensation to the victim families immediately, he said.
Talking about the political strategies in Karnataka elections, Raghuveera Reddy referred to the YSRCP and TDP’s call to the Telugus in Karnataka. How Chandrababu Naidu ask the Telugus to vote to JDS in Karnataka and YSR Congress Party directly asking the Telugu voters not to vote to Congress Party. Both TDP and YSRCP should make their stand clear in Karnataka elections, he pointed out.
The Congress party only would do justice to Andhra Pradesh by according Special Category Status after coming to power in 2019 elections. During the party’s 84th plenary, the members passed a resolution saying that SCS is the right of Andhra Pradesh.
