State failed to curb crime against women, flays Roja

Visakhapatnam: YSR Congress Party leader and Nagari MLA RKRoja alleged that the government has failed to catch Annam Subbaiah, who raped a minor girl in Dachepalli in Guntur district and committed suicide.Addressing media here on Saturday, Rojasaid that during the TDP tenure, the crime against women has increased but there was no response from the government to prevent it.

She said Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, who always claims that his government was working for women empowerment, totally failed to take steps to control crime against women in the state.

Though many leaders from TDP involved in sensational call money cases, the police have not file cases and investigation was in slow pace against them, she pointed out. With the direct involvement of TDP leaders, the police are also expressing their helplessness to take stern action against the accused in crime against women, Roja alleged.
