Minister, MLC vie for party ticket in 2019

Kadapa: Political scenario in Jammala madugu Assembly constituency, which is a  hot bed of faction politics, turning ugly due to competition between Marketing Minister C Adi Narayana Reddy and MLC P Ramasubba Reddy over securing party ticket for 2019 general elections.

The ‘War of Words’ launched by the duo over party ticket for the last couple of days not only put the party functionaries in confusion but also turned out to be a headache to party high command.  

It may be recalled that there has been political rivalry between  the families of Ponnapu Reddy Ramasubba Reddy  and Chidipiralla  Adinarayana Reddy for several decades.  

In this connection Ramsubba Reddy uncle Ponnapu Reddy Siva Reddy, also  known as Bombula Siva Reddy, was brutally murdered by his  rivals  in a bomb blast some years ago in Hyderabad. 

Then, P Ramasubba Reddy  entered the politics as successor of Siva Reddy and  was elected as MLA from Jammalamadugu for two terms  in 1994 and 1999 by defeating  Devagudi Narayana Reddy who was close relative of present Minister C Adi narayana Reddy. Ramasubba Reddy had also worked as minister in A P Cabinet.  

Though the faction feud culture almost is eradicated in the area, the  political rivalry has been continuing between the two families.P Ramasubba Reddy who contested with the TDP ticket for three times -  in 2004, 2009 and 2014 general elections from Jammalamadugu constituency, was defeated in the hands of C Adinarayana Reddy who contested on Congress ticket  in 2004, 2009 and  on YSR Congress ticket in 2014 elections.
