Leopard run over by vehicle on Tirumala ghat road

Tirumala: A leopard was runover by an unidentified vehicle at  12th turning of second ghat road heading towards Tirumala on Monday. TTD forest officials said the incident occurred at about 7.30 pm while the leopard was crossing road. After being hit by a vehicle, the wild animal died on the spot due to severe injuries. 

The incident created sensation among the travellers with many of them stopping there and taking photos of the carcass with their mobile phones. 
TTD  DFO Phani Kumar Naidu told The Hans India said the animal had died after being hit by an unknown vehicle.

“We have no power to register the case.  Tirupati wild life division officials will take care of the process. As per the norms of Wild Life Act, we have sent the carcass for a post mortem,” he said.
