The forthcoming Mahanadu has huge significance as the Telugu Desam Party will face Assembly elections after this mega meeting of the party and before the next Mahanadu.

In this backdrop, the Telugu Desam Party leaders discussed seriously about various venues. But the TDP supremo and Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu decided to conduct the Mahanadu in NTR’s native Krishna district ahead of the 2019 general elections.

Apart from this, the Telugu Desam leadership wants to further strengthen the party in Krishna and Guntur districts before the elections. There is a common feeling among the public and political circles that the trend which forms in the two districts at the time of elections would make an impact on the prospects of the party in other districts.

Already the leadership of YSR Congress has also believed it strongly and spending all its time and efforts to successfully complete YS Jaganmohan Reddy’s walkathon in Krishna district. It also believes that the party improved its prospects after receiving a big setback in Nandyal by-election.

Now the TDP made an elaborate plan to blow the bugle from Vijayawada Mahanadu venue for next elections. As part of it, the TDP also has plans to organise a massive public meeting in Guntur city before the elections.

Holding party’s mega meeting in the politically sensitive region will further boost the party’s prospects in other districts, opined urban Telugu Desam former president Tumati Premnath.

TDP Andhra Pradesh unit president Kimidi Kala Venkata Rao, MLC T D Janardhan visited the Siddhartha Engineering College Grounds on Tuesday and finalised it as the venue for three-day party meeting. Actually, the Telugu Desam conducted two Mahanadus in Vijayawada in the past.

A road that leads from Ring Road to Autonagar is still called Mahanadu Road as Mahanadu was conducted there and the party founder president NT Rama Rao invited the national leaders to the conclave.  Earlier, Mahanadu was conducted at Siddhartha Academy.

But this time, the party selected Siddhartha Engineering College. The College has huge parking space, meeting hall and buildings for residential purpose also.

Kala Venkat Rao said that they would discuss various important issues like Special  Category Status and expose the conspiracies of YSR Congress and BJP. Telugu Desam MLA Bode Prasad said that all the required facilities are available at the venue to conduct Mahanadu.
