Call to produce high yield varieties

Tirupati: Acharya NG Ranga Agricultural University (ANGRAU) Vice-Chancellor (V-C) V Damodar Naidu called upon the seed companies and research institutes to produce quality seeds for the benefit of Andhra Pradesh farmers. 

The V-C held a high-level meeting with the agricultural scientists and representatives of the seed manufacturing companies at Regional Agricultural Research Station (RARS) here on Thursday.

In the meeting, Damodar Naidu directed the private seed manufacturing companies to take the responsibility of producing high yield varieties. He advised them to develop the disease-resistant seeds for the benefit of farmers. 

“University aim is to produce the high quality seeds with better yielding capacity,” the V-C added. He stressed on the need for producing the high quality seeds of paddy, groundnut, sugar cane and millets,” the V-C said. 

In the meeting, ANGRAU Director of Research NV Naidu, scientists Govind Rao, Munirathnam, Rajashekar, and Kadiri Mohan were present.
