Two arrested in Delhi resident murder case
Tirupati: The city cops arrested 2 persons in the murder case of Delhi resident Manithuli (30). Tirupati East DSP Muniramaiah said accused, Mansur and Tarun Kumar, are the nearest relatives of the deceased’s wife Yasmin. She hails from Chandragiri town in Chittoor district.
The DSP stated the deceased, who had crime record and direct involvement in 32 cases, had threatened relatives of the Yasmin that he would kill her in the backdrop of family disputes. The accused hatched a murder plan to eliminate Manithuli.
As per the plan, Mansur and Tarun came to Tirupati on May 7 and met the deceased in the night at private hotel room near Tirupati railway station. They were carrying an iron rod along with them.
The accused and the deceased had consumed alcohol in the hotel room. In the middle of the night, Mansur smashed the head of Manithuli with iron rod while Tarun helped Mansur to commit crime. He died on the spot.
The accused fled from the hotel after committing the crime along with iron rod. Based on the CCTV footage, the cops cracked the case within 48 hours and arrested the accused.
The DSP stated that the cops suspected the role of deceased’s wife in murder case, but her involvement was not proved. He said that the cops will arrest her if her role in the murder case was proved.
East Police Station CI Siva Prasad, SIs Viresh, Praveen Kumar, and Shekshavali with other policemen have arrested the accused. Tirupati Urban SP Abhishek Mohanty has appreciated the staff of the East Police Station for cracking the case in two days.
