EPDCL receiving good response for regularisation
Visakhapatnam: The APEPDCL is receiving good response for voluntary regularisation of unauthorised additional domestic loads at 50 per cent discount scheme, said CMD HY Dora here on Friday. As per orders of the APERC, who are utilising unauthorised additional domestic loads, have to regularise their additional load by paying Rs 1,200 per kw as development charges for regularisation.
But now, as per the voluntary disclosure scheme, they have to pay for unauthorised additional domestic loads at 50 per cent discount of approved development charges at Rs 600 per KW only. However, the consumers have to pay the security deposit charges as applicable at present norms for the additional load.
As many as 507 domestic consumers voluntarily regularised their unauthorised additional domestic loads and paid Rs 7.36 lakh towards development charges and security deposit for 925 kw of their additional load so far.
The usage of electricity in APEPDCL jurisdiction is increased when compared to last year. At present, the usage of electricity reached up to 3120 MW as against 2,800 MW last year, Dora said.
Generally, most of the consumers are having more contracted load than the actual connected load on their premises due to adding of load from time to time by various appliances like air conditioners, water heaters and water motor pumps without informing and regularising the extra load, the CMD said and added that this unexpected increase in load could get the electrical network overloaded.
The consumers can regularise their additional load by paying Rs 600 till May 30. The consumers who are not regularising the undisclosed additional load by May 30, have to pay Rs 1200 for regularisation as per the present general terms and conditions of the supply, the CMD informed.
