Fire breaks out at timber depot

Guntur: A huge stock of wood was reduced to ashes due to fire accident caused by an electric short circuit in a timber depot in Piduguralla in the early hours of Friday. Wood worth Rs Rs 10 lakh was gutted in fire mishap.

According to district fire officer V Sirnivasa Reddy, fire broke out at the timber depot in Piduguralla town. “Soon after receiving information, we sent one fire engine to the spot and brought the situation under control within an hour”, he said.
