PM, Shah should tender apology to AP people: Ganta

Vijayawada: Minister for Human Resources Development (HRD) Ganta Srinivasa Rao demanded that Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP national president Amit Shah and the State BJP leaders should tender apology to the five crore Telugu people living in the State for betraying them on the Special Category Status (SCS) issue. He made this statement while interacting with the media after releasing the APICET-2018 results on Saturday. 

Says they betrayed people of the State by not sanctioning SCS and fulfilling other promises made in AP Reorganisation Act-2014

Says CM Chandrababu Naidu has already condemned the attack


When media asked about his reaction on the demand made by the BJP MlC Somu Veerraju that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu should tender apology for the attack on the convoy of BJP president Amit Shah at Alipiri, Srinivasa Rao questioned why the Chief Minister should tender apology. 

He made it clear there was no need for the Chief Minister to tender apology. He alleged that the BJP has cheated and betrayed the people of Andhra Pradesh on the Special Category Status issue and not fulfilled the promises made as per the AP Reorganisation Act.

He, moreover, said the incident near Alipri was a spontaneous reaction of the Telugu people. He rubbished the allegations that it was a pre-planned attack. The HRD Minister said Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu had reacted and condemned the attack on the convoy of the Amit Shah and there was no need to say apology for the incident.
