81-year-old woman raped in Narakodur

Guntur: A 81-year-old woman was allegedly raped by an unidentified person in Narakodur village of Guntur district on Sunday night. This incident came to light on Monday.

According to Guntur South DSP RVSN Murthy, when the elderly woman was sleeping in the house alone, an unidentified person entered the house and hit her with a pestle and committed the crime.

Later, the accused decamped with Rs18,000 cash. The victim has been shifted to the GGH for conducting medical examination. AP Mahila Commission Chairperson Nannapaneni Rajakumari visited the GGH in Guntur city and inquired about her health condition.

Condemning the incident, Rajakumari said that she will direct the police to take stern action against the accused. Guntur Urban SP Ch Vijaya said that they have formed four special teams to arrest the accused.
