Inter-district transfers for teachers soon
Guntur: The school education department is in favour of allowing inter-district transfers of teachers in spouse case, mutual transfers and ex-servicemen. Following request of teachers unions, the government took this decision.
The Special Chief Secretary Education department, Aditya Nath Das, directed the school education commissioner V Sandhya Rani to submit this proposal immediately. Based on that the government is expected to issue a GO. More than 2,000 teachers are expected to get inter-district transfers soon.
There have been no inter-district transfers for the teachers in the last two years. This process is expected to be completed before the reopening of the schools after summer holidays. Meanwhile, teachers unions are mounting pressure on the government to allow inter-district transfers on health grounds and requests. But the government has rejected their request.
