Three die in road mishap

Vijayawada: In a ghastly road accident, two persons and a child died on the spot on the outskirts of Vissannapeta in Krishna district on Monday.  According to Tiruvuru circle police, a shared auto rickshaw and a truck collided in the opposite direction near the ice factory on the outskirts of Vissannapeta in the afternoon.

Auto driver D Rajarao,47, passengers J Lakshmikantham, 47 and one-month-old baby died in the mishap. Mother of the baby Hemalatha and another passenger Chari sustained injuries.

The injured were shifted to Vijayawada government hospital. The victims belong to Sriramapuram village of Reddygudem and they were returning from a hospital in Nuzvid. The truck driver fled the spot.  

Tiruvuru station house in-charge K V Satyanarayana said a case has been booked on the truck driver and launched hunt to nab the accused.
