All set for final day of Ganga Jatara

Tirupati: The week-long religious festival of Ganga Jatara will conclude on Tuesday with the celebrations of pongal (making of sweet rice at the premises of temple). The AP Endowments department, temple management and the Police department are jointly conducting the last day celebrations of Ganga Jatara. 

Thousands of devotees not only from Tirupati but also from other parts of the Chittoor district and Kadapa district will pay their obeisance to goddess Gangamma.

The civic body officials have mad elaborate arrangements for providing drinking water to devotees and maintenance of sanitation. Additional staff have been drafted for cleaning the temple premises and the roads leading to the temple.

More than 200 cops including two DSPs, four CIs, 10 SIs and constables, and one platoon AR police were deployed to avoid untoward incidents. Speaking to The Hans India, temple trust chairman RC MuniKrishna said that 1.5 lakh devotees are expected to attend the final day of jatara.
