Amaranatha terms BJP win in Karnataka unethical

Chittoor: Berating BJP’s victory in Karnataka Assembly election, industries minister N Amaranatha Reddy accused the saffron party of influencing voters with money and resorting to malpractices to win the race by hook or crook. 

He asserted that the results would not have any impact on Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections slated for 2019. Speaking  to press persons  at the government  guesthouse  here on Tuesday, Amaranatha Reddy made serious allegations against both BJP and  YSRCP citing certain  incidents that took place in  the just-concluded Karnataka polls. 

“The BJP has  applied all  its techniques to defame the ruling party during election campaign.  Poll management and money  politics  of BJP have worked well in the elections.

Apart  from that, there is a tradition in the state that no political  party would win the power twice successively,” he added.  He regretted  that  Prime Minister Narendra Modi had allowed deployment of various unethical means to win the elections which was not seen earlier. 

On Telugu voters in Karnataka state  not heeding the plea TDP not to vote for BJP over denial of Special Category Status to AP, the minister alleged that YSRCP leaders had canvassed  in support of BJP candidates at the cost of AP’s interests.  He pointed that the credibility of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has come down by 7.1 per cent as indicated by a survey  of a reputed organisation.  

The minister predicted that YSRCP would certainly join hands with BJP in order to protect its tainted leader. Stating that expansion of roads in Chittoor city was inevitable, Amaranatha Reddy assured all assistance and maximum compensation to the owners of demolished buildings.

The minister later took  part in Nadi Veedhi Gangamma Jatara and sought the blessings of Goddess Gangamma,  Chittoor  MLA  D A Satya Prabah,  MLC N Rajasimhulu,  mayor  K Hemalatha and others  were present .
