Amaravati: The results of Karnataka elections created curiosity among politicians in Andhra Pradesh. The leaders from across the political parties responded on the elections.

Andhra leaders, including those who are against to the BJP and demanding Special Category Status to AP, particularly the supporters of TDP in the state went for campaign against the BJP in Karnataka elections.

These leaders and pressure groups participated in the campaign at the areas where Telugu speaking people live in Karnataka and that jolted the BJP cadre in the State. However, the TDP leaders clarified that they did not campaign in Karnataka.

Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu explained on Tuesday that the vote share of Congress, the second largest party in Karnataka was more than the BJP. More than 60 per cent people voted against the BJP in the elections, he added.

He claimed that the TDP did not campaign anywhere in Karnataka state against BJP. Minister P Pulla Rao opined that the BJP had benefitted due to anti-establishment vote in Karnataka. Minister for Housing Kalava Srinivasulu said the political parties in Karnataka had failed to convert the negativity against Modi into positive votes.

He said that the public in the country were vexed up with the unruly governance of Modi. Another leader, TDP Spokesperson Lanka Dinakar said that the circumstances in Karnataka were different when compared to Andhra Pradesh.

State BJP president Kanna Lakshminarayana pointed out that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu asked Telugu people in Karnataka not to vote for BJP. He said Naidu had suffered a moral defeat as the election results came in favour of the BJP.

BJP MLA P Vishnukumar Raju hoped that his party would form government in Karnataka. He explained that their party was ready to invite some of the MLAs from other parties to form government and claimed that this would be to protect people’s interests.

Telugu actor Sivaji, who campaigned against BJP in Karnataka claimed that the Telugu people living in Karnataka taught a befitting lesson to the BJP in this elections by not giving complete majority.

He further explained voting pattern of the Telugus living in areas like Chikballapur, Kollar, Koppal, Bellari and other districts consisting of 24 Assembly segments and they showed negative trend towards BJP.

The BJP could win only 8 seats out of these 24 constituencies, which nothing but showed the anger of the Telugus against Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He warned that the BJP should learn lessons from this defeat in this region and observed that this was main cause behind missing magic figure of 113 to form the government.

He alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had neglected governance in the country and took part in campaigning in Karnataka.
