Jagan accuses CM of betraying people of West Godavari

Eluru: YSRCP president and Opposition leader YS Jaganmohan Reddy launched a tirade against Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu at the start of his PrasaSankalpa Yatra in West Godavari district on Monday, saying that the Chief Minister had stabbed the people of West Godavari “with crowbars”in the last four years.

He also accused Eluru MLA Badeti Kota Rama Rao (Bujji) of encroaching upon a temple and schools and failing to do anything to the poor people. He also targeted Denduluru MLA and Government Whip Chintamaneni Prabhakar for attacking a woman officer who objected to his “illegal digging of sand” in the past. 

The Opposition leader reached Eluru on Monday evening at around 5.45 pm and addressed a huge gathering at old bus stand centre on Grand National Trunk Road. Police had a tough time in controlling crowds and diverting traffic towards Vijayawada and Rajamahendravaram as the venue is a main junction for the two routes. 

Jagan said though West Godavari district people had given all the 15 Assembly seats to the TDP, Chandrababu Naidu has backstabbed them by giving nothing to them. Referring to the incident of Denduluru MLA’s alleged attack on a woman official, he alleged that over Rs400 crores worth sand was illegally dug up in the district by TDP MLAs and leaders.

“The leader (Naidu) is a thief…and his MLAs are also thieves. Chintamaneni Prabhakar, Nidadavole MLA BurugupalliSesha Rao has dug up the sand illegally from River Godavari. Eluru MLA Bujji has eating the lands as bajji,” he said. 

YSRCP chief alleged that Chandrababu Naidu had violated the Constitution and managed the media for the last four years and also cheated the people on Special Category Status. He pointed out that before elections, Naidu demanded 15 years special status to state but in the past four years he did not touch the issue and used police force to suppress those who demanded it.
