Nani, Gadde inspect flyover works
Vijayawada: MP Kesineni Srinivas (Nani) and MLA Gadde Rammohan directed the officials to take steps so that the commuters at Benz Circle in the city were not put to hardships due to the ongoing flyover construction works. They inspected the flyover works, along with the officials of National Highways Authority here on Tuesday.
Speaking on the occasion, they said that the TDP government has taken up the flyover construction works though the previous Congress government had neglected them. The government was constructing the flyovers keeping in view of next four decades, they added.
They said that there was no need to panic about the ongoing flyover works. The residents of Pakeergudem and Patamatalanka would be provided an alternative road through the service road at work location though the government wants to close the present connectivity to main road.
Nearly, 60,000 people were residing in Pakeerugudem and Patamatalanka, they said and added that a 33- feet new road would be developed to avoid inconvenience to the people.
They said that 1.48 km flyover was being constructed as a four- way lane on the two sides of the road. Nearly, 10 road lanes would be formed, including two feeder roads, at the busy Benz Circle, they added. They said that the TDP government fulfilled the promise by taking up the flyover construction works.
Municipal Corporator Chennupati Gandhi, Durga Temple Trust Board member Yalamanchali Gouranga Babu, TDP leaders Katragadda Babu, Katragadda Srinu and several leaders were present on the occasion.
Joint Collector assures former MP Vidya on Kakani statue relocation Joint Collector Babu Rao met former MP Chennupati Vidya and gave an assurance certificate at her residence here on Tuesday regarding the relocation of former Minister Kakani Venkata Ratnam’s statue.
It may be recalled that the officials removed Kakani Venkata Ratnam’s statue two days ago owing to the flyover construction works that were in progress. Several political parties opposed the government move.
In this backdrop, the government announced that Kakani statue would be installed in the same location. Hence, the Joint Collector handed over the assurance certificate to former MP as she was also a member of the Statue Committee.
