Botcha flays TDP govt
Vizianagaram: Senior YSR Congress Party leader Botcha Satyanarayana lashed out at the TDP government for doing nothing to develop the backward district Vizianagaram during the past four years.
Addressing a public meeting organised in support of the ‘Praja Sankalpa Yatra’ of YS Jaganmohan Reddy in the town on Wednesday, Botcha said, "Former Union Minister of Civil Aviation and MP of Vizianagaram P Ashok Gajapathi Raju never raised any issues related to the district in the Lok Sabha.
He never bothered about the people of this region. Except taking up the work relating to the beautification of the fort and developing the Vizianagaram Stadium, he had done nothing to this town or to his constituency.”
The YSRCP leader said that the late Chief Minister Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy had named the Thotapalli project as Sardar Gouthu Latchanna project, but now Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu was making false statements and misguiding the public about it.
Coming down heavily on the government for failing to prevent illegal sand mining in the district, Satyanarayana said that though the illegal sand mining was going on unabated, the department and minister concerned were indifferent to it.
He said that the state government had failed not only in all aspects but also in maintaining law and order. Even the safety and lives of children were put to risk, he bemoaned.
Many women and children were molested by anti-social elements who were roaming freely but the government didn't take serious action against those people, Satyanarayana lamented.
