Somireddy asks how Governor can invite BJP to form govt in Karnataka
Nellore: Agriculture minister Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy asked why did Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP president Amit Shah were intervening in political affairs of the state governments.
Even though the JD (S) and Congress have clear majority, the minister asked as to why the Governor has invited the BJP to form government in Karnataka.
Participating in mini-Mahanadu at Venkatagiri on Thursday, Somireddy said though the JD(S) and Congress have 116 seats, the Governor failed to oblige the request of the group. But, how the Governor had invited the BJP to form government which has a strength of only 104 MLAs, he questioned.
He asked why there has been difference in providing justice between Goa and Karnataka states. The minister said that he had not seen politicians like Narendra Modi and Amit Shah in the country and alleged that there was no democracy in the country after Modi assumed charge as Prime Minister. He also alleged that the BJP had spent Rs 10,500 crore for Karnataka elections excluding expenses for visit of Prime Minister to the state.
“Some BJP leaders announced that they would take care of Andhra Pradesh after Karnataka elections. We won’t believe such kind of statements and the TDP has a long history in the politics,” said the agriculture minister. Stating that 130 crore people in the country have been waiting to defeat the ruling BJP, he added the state government has been implementing welfare schemes though it was facing financial constraints.
